February 2009 “Tasty Talk”: “Farewell To Fall” Open House – 02/27/09

 Our fabulous fall/winter line will come to an end on March 8^th, and will be replaced with our scrumptious spring/summer line. Please join me on Friday, February 27^th, from 7-9pm at my home, as we say “Farewell to Fall.”

 This will be your last chance to order your fall favorites for a while. I will have many items that you can take home that same day, and if I don’t have it in stock, we’ll place your order that day! And, as usual, I will have yummy samples for you to enjoy, and it will be a fun ladies’ night out!

BabyLove sends himself to the naughty corner

Hubby and I have found ‘time-outs’ in the corner to be an effective form of discipline for our 22-month old son – up until today, that is.

We were all playing, and having fun, when BabyLove started hitting Hubby. It was in a playful manner, but he was persistent – and kept doing it. We told him he was going to have a time-out if he didn’t stop hitting.

It was only a warning, but the next thing we knew, he was walking over to the designated ‘naughty corner.’

He had given himself a time-out. The problem? He was laughing and enjoying himself!

Then he walked over to us, turned around, and went back to his corner. Jumping up and down, and having a grand old time laughing. Not with any toys or tv – just being happy.

Now that he’s found a way to entertain himself during time-out – I don’t know how effective it will be.

We haven’t had to test it out, yet. But the time is coming…

Any suggestions?

Who says we have to celebrate love just on Valentine’s Day? Let’s celebrate the entire month of romance, with some romantic movies.

 

My all-time favorite is not Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, or any other ‘traditional’ romantic movie. “Grease” is the word! Before Harry met Sally…Danny met Sandy!

When we were kids, my friends and I memorized most of the lines, used to perform all of the songs, and of course, knew all of the dance movies. I didn’t want to be Sandy – I had to be the bad girl, Rizzo! 🙂

My money-saving tip is especially for those who live close to a Harris Teeter grocery store. Harris Teeter is having another ‘triples’ couponing event February 5th-8th. During ‘triples’ events, Harris Teeter will triple up to 20 coupons with a face-value of 99 cents or less!
